In one past version of chapter 2, Gunrick had to placate fairies that powered Ranji’s reactor. That version of the chapter introduced a lot of totally bonkers things like that in quick succession, which is one of the reasons it isn’t canon anymore. (Another reason being that my desperation about how much I hated my job and the town in which I lived was visible on each page… at least to me, in retrospect. But those issues have been addressed 😅)

And wouldn’t you know it, there’s another proto-Nova character design in there 😮
